Alpha Protocol: The alpha male this is not
After a ton of delays and even a cancelation notice from certain game sites, Alpha Protocol came in the mail the other day. For all the hype and delay this game falls woefully short of being the Oblivion of espionage action games. Everything from the rail style of mission progression to the disastrously limited character customization options is not what the dev team or all the magazines promised you and me.
Now, while the opening is harsh the game is not all together terrible, it just is not in any way the game it was supposed to be. Say, if this game came out without RPG elements it would be somewhat poor, but still playable.
It’s fun, I guess, but it isn’t addicting, at least not yet, or not to me. While I have ran through a handful of missions, the game seems to lack polish and shine. It isn’t that this game is bad, well, maybe it is, but I think it has more to do with the implementation. This is, it really is, a cool concept, just not a fun game.
