Hey Look! A Bad Idea!
In an amazing effort to kill two birds with one song, Filter, best known for “Hey Man, Nice Shot!” and “Take A Picture” have covered The Turtles’ “Happy Together” for the Stepfather soundtrack. You can hear it HERE on their MySpace Page. The cover only helps seal the fact that covers and soundtracks are forever destined to be terrible ideas.
Luckily we haven’t had any new material from Filter since their less than stellar Anthems for the Damned, which was basically a tribute to the soldiers overseas involved in the war in Iraq, which in this writer’s opinion is more insult than thanks. That all being said, lead singer Richard Patrick is still threatening to release that “heavier, more industrial album” that is to be scant of much if any live drumming (sarcastic – Yippee!), that we were supposed to see earlier this year, but now it looks like it won’t be until sometime next year. So, hold your breath for that!
